At Seghesio Family Vineyards, the key word is family. Our family story starts in 1895, when an Italian immigrant and his new wife planted Zinfandel vines deep in Sonoma soil and set down roots that, five generations and 125 vintages later, are still growing strong.
Today, we believe in the importance of family more than ever – the one you’re born into and the one you choose. Guided by our values to stay humble, to honor our community, and to celebrate the bounty of our home in Sonoma County, there is always a seat at our table and all are welcome.
“At Seghesio Family Vineyards, we’ve been kicking the same dirt and tending the same vine for 125 years.”
We like to say that Zinfandel is not for the faint of heart – it may be easy to drink but it is a challenging variety to grow. Over five generations, the Seghesio Family have become experts and leaders in Zinfandel, persevering through prohibition, earthquakes, fires and droughts.
It’s often said that Zinfandel is the only truly American grape and, in many ways, the Seghesio story is a true reflection of the American dream. Every bottle of wine we make is a realization of the dreams and aspirations of an Italian immigrant who came to Sonoma County to build a family and a future
Seghesio Family Vineyards works encompasses more than 300 acres of certified sustainable vineyards across Sonoma County’s most preeminent growing regions including the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valleys.
Our winemaking team, led by Winemaker Andy Robinson takes an old-world approach in the cellar, harvesting and fermenting our wines in small lots and using techniques and methods more often associated with Burgundy to achieve wines of balance, purity and character
Our team is dedicated to crafting the very best experiences for our consumers. Whether that’s through a great bottle of wine or an afternoon at our tasting room, meet the team who makes it all happen.
